Education

Twin River School District, the home of the Titans, is a K-12 school district of approximately 550 students.  Sites include Genoa, Monroe and Silver Creek.  The staff, administration and school board are committed to helping all students achieve success.  This commitment is reflected in the school's mission statement:

Twin River students have opportunities to study and learn through expanded classroom activities.  Elementary students use the Accelerated Reader program to explore the world of books and its many facets.

Twin River Public School District was formed by a merger of the school districts in Genoa, Monroe, and Silver Creek.  An elementary school (K-6) is located in each community and the junior-senior high school is located in Genoa.  A new elementary addition in Genoa was built in 2004.

Vocational courses offered in the high school include CAD - Drafting, Welding, Business, Computer Technology, and Industrial Arts.  Adult education classes are offered at the high school through Central Community College.

Twin River Public Schools receive a wide range of supplemental services from Educational Service Unit No. 7 in Columbus.  The agency offers social services for adults and children, vocational services/training for adults, and residential services for adults and children.

The SCIPP program introduces the junior and senior high students to the perils of peer pressure and decision-making.  Tech-prep and school-to-work are transition programs to assist students moving from high school to the working world.  The Central Community College Early Entry/Adult Education program expands the educational opportunities for senior class members and the adult population of our community.

Local students attend Central Community College with campuses located in Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings.  Central Community College offers both technical/career education programs and an academic transfer program for students wanting to earn a bachelor's degree.

Other area colleges frequently attended by Twin River High School graduates include:
